I haven’t been sharing what I’ve been doing much as it’s the year 2020 and it has its own timeline and agenda. But I’m grateful for your support and I care about how you’ve been doing too so I thought it would be timely to post now.

Our short film at the San Diego International Film Festival

I’m excited as our film Old Aquatics directed by Stephen Mickelsen is a selection of @sdfilmfestival and of San Diego Film Week. This short film is definitely a labor of fun and love! Congratulations to the cast & crew and a big thank you to the festival, which has been very creative and innovative this year. You can catch our film on sdfilmfest.com – The festival has been extended due to its popular demand.

When I say that the festival has been innovative my husband and I have been enjoying a few films from the confort of our living room. Films such as L’Autre (English: The Other) a 2020 French drama film written and directed by Charlotte Dauphin. Making Lemonade 🍋: Our Covid-19 Story by Chris Francis, One of These Days by Bastian Günther, 150 Million Magical Sparrows by Tanvi Jain, Brahmanand Siingh, and a drive in experience last night with Love Sarah directed by Eliza Shroeder.

It was exciting as we met with Old Aquatics director Stephen and his spouse Elsa on the step and repeat for an interview about our film. It was very funny, we hope everyone will enjoy hearing about our film as well.

Marketing

2020 has been a lot of working from home and reflecting for me. I finally got the chance to rethink my instagram account and decided to share more of what I’m about and what my journey has been about. I have a ton of photos from all I’ve been doing and I think now is a great time to share them. I never really took the time to think about it before and lay it out in a way that I can feel good about. Now it’s all about colors and I guess Chakras! My acting career is a process and a personal journey that I love to share on screen. You can see my reels on my website and on IMDB. Theatre

I’m taking part of the Mesa College Theatre Program as I’ve always been interested in it. Time was always an issue as I was either traveling or had to keep my days open for bookings and evening classes. Now classes are online and I can take part of them.

I wrote a short play as part of a class with La Jolla Playhouse. It’s called “2 weeks with my mother”. I had started it a while back and I took the opportunity of this class to finish it. I hope to get the chance to perform it in the USA some day and in Europe with my mother, who is my best acting school!

I also took part of Shakespearian scenes such as The Tempest with Sofa Shakespeare and Sonnet #4 for the upcoming Bard birthday!

Film/TV

While I always purge my acting instrument, I’ve been a bit out of practice but I’m glad as I picked up with private coaching with 9x EMMY® Award-winning casting director Mark Teschner, CSA. A native New Yorker, Mark Teschner is a Casting Director and the Casting Director of General Hospital. He has been described by Rolling Stone as “an actor’s casting director,”. I took Mark’s advanced class at TVI studios many years ago. I’m so grateful as it has been fun and I’ve had a lot of epiphany moments. What an art!

Community

I volunteered for The Jewish Family Service delivering meals to parking homeless structures, keeping interactions to a minimum while being protected by a mask and gloves due to Covid-19. They do an amazing job. Please consider to donate or help if you can. Because of the industry picking up and my husband visiting my in laws often I decided to stop as we need to see them. This year has been challenging for families and people at risk. It’s been hard for me to not be able to travel safely too. I crave seeing my side of the family. We’ll have a big picnic in 2021 for sure celebrating life!

I’ve been tutoring French online more and it’s been amazing especially since we redid our pantry and put 2 giants chalkboards. It’s been so useful for teaching!

I certified in a Nanny program as 2020 has been the year of either people getting pregnant or babies being born and with the diversity I can offer I think I could come up with an artistic workshop after school day care eventually, we’ll see. That’s for the future.

Je n’ai pas beaucoup partagé mes occupations cette année car c’est l’année 2020 et celle-ci a son propre calendrier et programme…Ce n’est pas pour autant que je ne pense pas à vous et ne me soucie guère de votre bien être. Donc, me voici, me voilà !

Notre court métrage au San Diego International Film Festival

Je suis ravie car notre film Old Aquatics realisé par Stephen Mickelsen est une sélection officielle du San Diego International Film Festival et de San Diego Film Week. Ce court-métrage est un travail de fun et d’amour ! Félicitations à toute l’équipe de tournage et surtout un tout grand merci au festival pour leur accueil et d’avoir créé une plateforme innovative pour cette année 2020. Quand je dis que le festival a été innovateur c’est parce que nous avons pu participer au festival tout en restant chez nous. Nous avons visionné, des films comme L’Autre, un film dramatique français de 2020 écrit et réalisé par Charlotte Dauphin. Nous avons rencontrer le réalisateur de Old Aquatics Stephen et son épouse Elsa sur le tapis rouge pour une courte interview sur notre film. C’était très drôle ! Nous espérons que tout le monde appréciera également ce moment.

Marketing

2020 pour moi c’est beaucoup de télétravail (auditions et travail voix-off ainsi que des auditions pour des pubs) mais surtout la possibilité de réfléchir sur ce qui m’importe.

Je me suis finalement penchée sur mon compte instagram. J’ai énormément de photos, c’est le moment idéal pour les partager ! Théâtre

Je participe au programme de théâtre de Mesa College car cela m’a toujours intéressée. Je suis souvent en déplacement ou je travaille et les bookings sont souvent de dernières minutes donc ce n’était pas évident avant de trouver la plage nécessaire pour le faire. Maintenant, les cours sont en ligne et je peux y participer !

J’ai écrit une courte pièce de théâtre dans le cadre d’un cours avec La Jolla Playhouse. Ça s’appelle “2 semaines avec ma mère”. Je l’avais commencée il y a quelque temps et j’ai profité de ce cours pour la terminer. J’espère avoir la chance de la jouer aux USA un jour et en Europe avec ma maman, qui est une grande source d’inspiration.

J’ai participé à deux morceaux de pièces de William Shakespeare La Tempête avec Sofa Shakespeare et le Sonnet #4 pour l’anniversaire du Bard à venir avec #SonnetSlam.

Film/TV

Bien que je travaille “purge” mon instrument d’actrice de façon régulière, je manquais d’une pratique assidue ces derniers temps…Je suis ravie car depuis quelques semaines je prends des cours avec le coach Mark Teschner, CSA. Mark Teschner est connu pour être un directeur de casting et le directeur de casting de General Hospital. J’ai suivi les cours avancés de Mark Teschner il y a quelques années aux studios TVI de Los Angeles. Je continue d’avoir de bonnes révélations sur mon jeu d’actrice. Quel art !

Communauté

J’ai fait du bénévolat pour le Jewish Family Service pendant quelques temps pour livrer des repas dans des structures de parkings pour des sans-abris qui vivent dans leur voiture. Bien entendu, les interactions étaient minimisées et j’étais protégée par un masque et des gants en raison de Covid-19. Cette organisation fait un travail remarquable. Voici un lien si vous désirez faire un don . En raison de la reprise de l’industrie du film et de la visite de mon mari chez mes beaux-parents, j’ai décidé d’arrêter car nous avons besoin de les voir. Cette année a été difficile pour les familles et les personnes à risque. J’ai hâte de pouvoir voyager en toute sécurité aussi. J’ai envie de voir ma famille en Europe. Je vous le dis, les retrouvailles se feront autour d’un grand pique-nique en 2021…Célébrons la vie!

Je donne des cours de français en ligne à des jeunes. Nous venons de refaire notre garde manger et avons mis deux grands tableaux noirs. C’est très pratique pour enseigner!

J’ai pris part a un certificat de nounou puisque cette année est l’année des femmes qui tombent enceintes ou de celles qui accouchent ! Cette année c’est comme un 2ème baby boom ! Peut être que par la suite j’ouvrirai un espace après école franco suisse américain, sait-on jamais.
