It’s been a while…Well, I haven’t felt like blogging and telling what has been happening in my life and career much as I believe it’s a personal journey and silence is very powerful to feel and progress. My 40’s are definitely about something else. Quality over quantity and what I find difficult at times is blocking the noise. I also love to share what I’m doing but more and more it’s about being in the moment and living life. What we can all connect with is grace and fun. If I catch myself doing otherwise I ache.

🎭C’est la Vie – Opening this weekend (running 2 weekends only)!

On September 22nd I auditioned for Clairemont Act One Fall Production: C’est La Vie. I booked the role of Brigitte in the one act play “The Waiting Room” written by Char Sivertson (who happens to also be my amazing mother in law. If you wonder, I still had to audition for the part of course which is what an actor life is about).

It will be my 3rd time performing with Clairemont Act One (I was in their past Fall productions “Zombie Apocalypse”, “Please Pass the Gravy”, and now “C’est la Vie”). I’m proud to be a part of this grass root effort Community Theatre who puts on great shows while not having its own venue yet. Wrapped a Feature Film

I just wrapped a feature film written and directed by Karen Schuback, filmed by Rachel Dunn. I auditioned for Karen’s film early September. It’s my first time working with her. She is a kind hearted, smart, and strong woman. I like her style! My character, Agnès, is a mother of 3 children whose husband died tragically in the 50’s. It was an honor and a responsibility that was given to me to live her truth. It was an amazing experience to be a part of a connected cast and crew. I mostly witnessed how connected everyone was from a distance though as I’m a “character actor” as some call it.

A huge gracias to the wonderful Raquel Trivino, the head makeup artist on this feature length for supporting and watching over Agnès while on the MUA chair and while I was “hurrying up and waiting”, loaded with emotions.

A BIG merci to my scene partners: Daniel Grogan, Andrew Jackson, Aiden Anderson, Megan Barker, Quincy Ricker, Randy Davison, Pierce Wallace, Brooklyn Summer, Jack Wall, Lynn Cao, Thom Mulligan, Gary Wilson, Kimy Wall, Jeremy Parr, Rachel Murany and to everyone involved for their craft and energy. Also bravo incredible crew. We never say enough about you but you clearly rule!

Northern California Travel Videos Shoot

In early October, I was hired with my long time friend Manuela Mezzadri to shoot a series of road trip videos with Brand USA up in Northern California. I’ve been fortunate to work with them since 2014. It was my second road trip with them this year (I went on a roadtrip back in June in South Dakota) . I keep saying it but America you have so many treasures. Mother Nature has been incredibly generous with the variety of landscapes and climate she put in your arms. This trip was sensational!

 

We started by sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge (I will carry that picture in my mind forever. I was laying on the sailing boat net facing up the bridge. Before that we spotted a few mini dolphins called Bottlenose Dolphins I guess), then went on a stroll in the Castro district (took the trolley), to then have fun at Dolores Park with all the free spirited people there (it was a hot day and lots of people were shirtless – I think the post production of this video is going to be funny) to then get into the crazy hour at Twin Peaks. Not that the two of us need the crazy hour to be in that state!

The following day we headed to Yosemite but made a stop for a gold mining experience in the very happy yet ghostly vibe town of Coulterville in Mariposa County. We drove through Yosemite and let me tell you how impressive the emptiness on the side of the road is at some point but it’s also quite breathtaking as you can spot the incredible rocks of El Capitan, the Three Brothers, the North Dome, and the Half Dome. We visited the legendary Ahwahnee Hotel (that inspired the set construction of the Shining) and stopped for its also legendary and delicious breakfast. You need to experience it!

We strolled around Juno Lake and felt the beautiful fresh wind of Fall as well as enjoyed its colors.

We got to kayak on Mono Lake and around the Tufas. That is also something that will strike me for life. Seeing the pictures that were taken that just reminded me how lucky we are to have been put into that “live painting”.

And a French Swiss Lady without a castle wouldn’t be one, so pardon my French but we had to stop for some yoga at Château du Sureau in Madera County. I can’t wait to be back to experience its Relais & Châteaux Restaurant with my husband. We wrapped the shoot showcasing the fun and tasty South Gate Brewery of Oakhurst. Ok, right, we had some food too! Thankful to the partners for their heartfelt welcome.

Old Aquatics – Executive Producing

Late September, my husband and I partnered up with BadCat Films (Stephen & Elsa Mickelsen) to produce a short film based on a play I had performed it the previous Fall with Clairemont Act One, directed on stage by John Conan Palmer. The play is by playwright Steven Korbar and was directed on film by Stephen Mickelsen.

We shot it overnight at the Dream Factory in Irvine. Director of Photography is Peter Mickelsen. I’m grateful for a very efficient, fun and incredibly prepared crew. Also, thanks to my cast mate Mark Atkinson for putting the work behind the words and lives that were given to us to play with and for hosting the many rehearsals. I truly appreciate it. Oui, je sais ça fait un petit bout de temps. Je n’ai pas eu trop envie d’écrire mes aventures ces derniers mois.  Car je pense que c’est un voyage personnel et le silence est d’or parfois pour progresser. Mes 40 printemps sont certainement à l’origine de tout ça. En gros, j’essaie de bloquer le bruit autour de moi. À ne pas m’en méprendre, j’aime aussi partager ce que je fais mais je savoure le moment présent et la vie plutôt que le monde en ligne. Je pense que ce qui nous uni c’est la grâce et le fun. Si je me surprends à faire autrement, je me donne la nausée.

🎭C’est la Vie – Ouverture ce week-end (2 week-ends seulement)!

Le 22 septembre dernier, j’ai passé une audition pour Clairemont Act One, sa production automnale: C’est La Vie ! J’ai décroché le rôle de Brigitte dans la pièce d’un acte “The Waiting Room” de Char Sivertson (qui se trouve être aussi ma belle-mère. J’ai malgré tout dû passer une audition – ahah. Ce qui est normal, c’est ça la vie d’une actrice!).

Ce sera la troisième fois que je vais monter sur les planches avec Clairemont Act One (j’étais dans leurs précédentes productions d’automne “Zombie Apocalypse”, “Please Pass the Gravy” et maintenant “C’est la Vie”). Je suis ravie de faire partie de cette troupe qui offre du théâtre de quartier tout en faisant des spectacles de qualité. Ce sont très souvent des comédies. Tourné dans un long-métrage

Je viens de terminer un long métrage écrit et réalisé par Karen Schuback, filmé par Rachel Dunn. J’ai auditionné pour le film de Karen début septembre. C’est la première fois que je travaille avec elle. C’est une réalisatrice généreuse, intelligente et une femme forte. J’aime son style ! Mon personnage dans le film, Agnès, est une mère de 3 enfants dont le mari est mort tragiquement. Le tout se déroule dans les années 50. C’était un honneur et une responsabilité qui m’était donnée de vivre sa vérité. Ce fut un vrai plaisir de travailler avec l’équipe de Karen. Tout le monde était soudé. Bon, je l’admets j’étais un peu à distance avec Agnès, rôle oblige.

Un immense merci à la merveilleuse Raquel Trivino, la maquilleuse principale sur ce long métrage qui a veillé sur mon personnage pendant que je me faisais maquillée et pendant que je me “dépêchais” d’attendre, chargée d’émotions.

Un GRAND merci à mes partenaires de scène: Daniel Grogan, Andrew Jackson, Aiden Anderson, Megan Barker, Quincy Ricker, Randy Davison, Pierce Wallace, Brooklyn Summer, Jack Wall, Thom Mulligan, Rachel Murany et toutes les personnes impliquées pour leur talent et leur énergie. Californie du Nord vidéos de voyage

Début octobre, j’ai été embauchée avec mon amie de longue date, Manuela Mezzadri, pour réaliser une série de vidéos road trip avec Brand USA dans le nord de la Californie. J’ai la chance de travailler avec eux depuis 2014. C’était mon deuxième voyage “road trip” avec eux cette année. Je n’arrête pas de le dire, mais les USA sont remplis de trésors. Mère Nature a été incroyablement généreuse avec la variété de paysages et de climat qu’elle a mis dans ses bras. Ce voyage était sensationnel !

Nous avons commencé notre shoot par naviguer sous le Golden Gate Bridge (je garderai cette image dans ma tête à jamais. J’étais allongée sur le filet du bateau à voile face au pont. Avant cela, nous avions aperçu quelques mini-dauphins à côté du bateau), puis nous sommes parties pour une ballade dans le quartier de Castro (pris le tramway), pour ensuite nous diriger vers le Dolores Park. Beaucoup de gens étaient à torse nus (il faisait chaud ce jour là. Je pense que la post-production de cette vidéo va être drôle…). Nous sommes ensuite allées à Twin Peaks pour l’heure magique (le coucher du soleil). J’appelle aussi cette heure, l’heure dingue car elle rend dingue !

Le lendemain, nous nous sommes dirigées vers Yosemite, mais nous nous sommes arrêtées pour une exploration dans une mine afin de chercher de l’or et ce, dans la ville fantomatique de Coulterville dans le comté de Mariposa. Nous avons traversé Yosemite et laissez-moi vous dire à quel point le vide sur le bord de la route est impressionnant à un moment donné. Il est également à couper le souffle. On peut apercevoir les incroyables rochers d’El Capitan, des Trois Frères, du North Dôme et du Half. Dôme. Nous avons visité le légendaire hôtel Ahwahnee (qui a inspiré le décor du film Shining) et nous nous sommes arrêtées pour son délicieux petit déjeuner. Je vous le recommande!

Nous nous sommes promenés autour du lac Juno et avons profité des magnifique couleurs de l’automne ainsi que de l’air frais.

Nous avons pu faire du kayak sur le lac Mono et autour des Tufas. C’est aussi quelque chose que je vais garder à vie. Regarder les photos qui ont été prises me rappelle à quel point nous avons de la chance d’avoir été intégrées dans cette “peinture vivante”.

Et une dame franco-suisse sans un château n’en serait pas une, nous avons dû nous arrêter pour faire du yoga au Château du Sureau dans le comté de Madera. J’ai hâte d’être de retour dans son restaurant Relais & Châteaux avec mon mari. Nous avons terminé notre roadtrip à la brasserie de South Gate à Oakhurst. Merci à nos partenaires pour leur accueil.

Old Aquatics – Productrice Exécutive

Fin septembre, mon mari et moi avons collaboré avec BadCat Films – Stephen & Elsa Mickelsen pour co-produire un court métrage basé sur une pièce de théâtre que j’avais interprétée l’automne précédent avec Clairemont Act One, mise en scène par John Conan Palmer. La pièce a été réalisée par le dramaturge Steven Korbar et a été adaptée à l’écran par Stephen Mickelsen.

Nous avons fait un tournage de nuit à la Dream Factory à Irvine en Orange County. Le directeur de la photographie est Peter Mickelsen. Bravo à une équipe très efficace et incroyablement préparée.
