In the spirit of the season, Clairemont Act One presents a very special production of eight short plays chosen from over 140 submissions from playwrights across the country:
Old Aquatics by Steven Korbar
Synopsis: A volunteer driver must summon all his patience as he tries to shepherd home a very unruly reveler on New Year’s Eve.
I feel very fortunate to be portraying the role of Edie Bowprey alongside fellow actor John Palmer who portrays Drew Hunsler, he is mild mannered with a bit of melancholy.
Edie is a festive romantic with a heavy heart. It’s New Year’s Eve, she is very intoxicated and she needs a ride home but more so to connect or not with the world and would love to believe that there’s still hope, maybe starting with herself. She doesn’t want the night to end.
She might be out of touch with the world and a “tiny” bit self centered…She means well and is definitely hilarious and not on purpose.
Directed by John Conan Palmer
My character believes in the magic of the season and loves to say the word pretty, pretty much all the time!
