I feel extremely fortunate to have gotten the chance to be a part of Fernando Apodaca’s art project installation for an Adobe Exhibit. Fernando Apodaca had a very interesting vision of what he wanted to achieve: An art installation with 3 faces/sculptures standing in an aquarium surrounded by miniature trains around. Our faces would have a projection of real footage of each of us with key words that represented the following: Enchanted, goddess, beauty, charisma, mythological. We would open and close our eyes, read poetry. I sang la Vie en Rose by Edith Piaf and portrayed the sound of a dolphin.
The experience was like being in a womb I guess! It was complete darkness under the plaster, all I could hear was my heart and the voice of my husband checking on me here and there to whom I would give thumbs up now and then. I had to remain calm as panicking would absolutely be of no help at all. It lasted about 15-20 minutes.
The footage were captured with a smart phone, I’m glad I have something that captured it.
